Even though this was to be used on a flat dry lake bed I still wanted a working suspension. A four wheel vehicle will lift one or more tires when traveling over uneven ground without one. Plus, a suspension would give a comfortable ride and, create more of a challenge to build. The basic design is based on a transverse spring similar to that used on a model "A". Trailer springs and hangers were flipped upside down and mounts fabricated for the tops of the axles. The trailer spring axle u-bolts are used to connect the spring to the center of the frame. Mini-bike shocks at each end and split "wishbone" and rear trailing arms complete the axle to frame connections.
